|
Chorleywood 255 for 3 wickets In spring breezy conditions, both sides managed to display some fine fielding and batting. Chorleywood opening batsmen Matt Clement and Will Bryant put on 23 without loss at the first change, bringing in Cameron Pegler and Cameron Stewart. At the end of 8 overs, Chorleywood had only lost 1 wicket. The next combination of Max Campbell and Louis Jungreuthmayer saw the first of several boundaries being scored, something that was continued by the final pairing of Luke Withell and Ross Golding. In response, Hemel at the end of the 6th over were on 236 without loss - a combination of good shots and many wides and no balls from the Chorleywood bowlers. All was not looking promising. Then came the first of three overs (not in succession!) by Cameron Pegler, in which he took 1 wicket in each of his first two overs and then in his final over and the last of the game, he took two more wickets... The over after Cameron's first, saw Max Campbell bowl his first and a run out ensued, with great vision from Luke Withell, and in later overs Luke would go on to take another run out and take two catches, one of them off Max's second over.... Great play from all the players.... |

Leverstock Green 226 for 5 wickets In difficult wet conditions both sides played some decent cricket. Chorleywood batted first and made steady progress reaching 236 - 4 off 16 overs . Bryant 8 runs and Golding 6 runs top scored. A wicket a piece for Matt Armstrong, Connor Glasscoe, Lewis Glasscoe and Harry Fowler all bowling well with good backup from Mo Kayani, Jamie Revell, Matt Keane and Jake Morgan. Lgcc were always in the game and indeed the last over proved to be their downfall, needing 6 to win, Clement bowled well to take a wicket and win the game for Chorleywood. |
