| Final v Hertford | 01/09/08 |
|---|---|
Well this was an exciting evening. It was cold (isn’t it always) but mercifully dry. Chorleywood won the toss and chose to bat and scored slowly. The first pair of Thomas Horsburgh and Robert Kennedy took the score to 206 after 4 overs with 1 out, scoring 1 and 2 respectively. The second pair of Edmund Richards and Cameron Murray pushed the score along to 221 after 8 overs again with 1 out scoring 6 and 7 respectively. The third pair took the total to 252 with Aaron Miler scoring a very aggressive 24 and Oliver Higgs supporting him well with 4. The final pair of Dominic Grant and Kai Wiggins main aim was not to lose their wicket and this they achieved despite some excellent bowling from Hertford. Chorleywood finished with an interesting target of 254. Hertford batted competently but never managed to push the game beyond Chorleywood who fielded excellently – Cameron Murray and Edmund Richards throwing themselves around brilliantly. All the bowlers bowled well and none were taken to task by the Hertford batsmen. With 2 overs left Hertford needed 8 runs but Dominic Grant bowled an excellent penultimate over giving away one leg bye and with Edmund Richards bowling the last over and giving away just 6 runs the match ended in a tie. An exciting final played in an excellent spirit – a very fair result. |

| Radlett v Chorleywood | 16/07/08 |
|---|---|
Radlett 293 for 4 wickets Radlett lose by 1 run. A thrilling end of season contest played in great spirit by both sides. Radlett batting first made their highest score of the season with consistent scoring throughout and Jonathan, Jayna, Daisy and Riya all hitting double figures and finding the boundary whilst Jack picked up 2 of the four wickets. Chorleywood started shakily losing 2 early wickets but a fantastic innings of 33 not out by Will and a few too many wides by the Radlett bowlers brought them home winners by one run in the last over. |

Chipperfield 209 for 4 wickets 2pts The Chips batsmen found it hard work against the accurate bowling of Elliot, Michael and Rohan, 3overs 1 for 6, and only Chakib Rogers 6 not out managed to find the boundary. In reply Chorleywood were always in control despite Ashton Dunn 2 overs for 5 runs and one wicket and Greg Simpole 3 overs for 7 runs. Max Hawker top scored with an aggressive 15 not out. |

| Hemel Hempstead v Chorleywood | 14/05/08 |
|---|---|
|
Hemel Hempstead 291 for 1 wicket 20pts Hemel batted steadily throughout their innings with some good running at times. Captain for the day Harry Hartnell top scored with 15 runs but all the batsmen contributed. Hemel were gifted over 40 in extras mainly wides and the only wicket was a run out. In reply Chorleywood regularly lost wickets and this stopped them being able to build any momentum. Rohan Dua top scored for Chorleywood with 11 runs and for Hemel Tyler Osborne and Jake Wilson took 2 wickets each. |

Watford 1 239 for 8 wickets I am delighted to report that Chorleywood won yesterday. There was a good second partnership for 4 overs between Rohan Dua and Michael Swain - whilst they lost one wicket they put on 30 runs in their 4 overs...with Rohan putting on 26 of these. The whole team played well and the last pair batted in a defensive manner not conceding any wickets but sealing a well deserved win. They took only 2 of our wickets in their 16 overs whilst we were able to get 8 of their wickets...with two very good catches. A number of the boys were nervous as they had not played much before....well they played as best as they could and got their confidence booster with a win. |
