Chorleywood won the toss and put Tring Park in to bat.

Tring Park started well and their first pair took the score to 224 without loss. When the second pair batted they scored well but lost two wickets, one each to Vinit and Vikash to take the score on to 230.

Their third pair moved the score on to 234 losing 2 wickets one to Chris Bond and one to a run out. Bowling - Vikash 1 for 7,Chris 1 for 12,Vinit 1 for 7,Peter 1 for 17,Scott 1 for 4.

The Chorleywood got off yet again to a great start from Vikash and 'keeper Thomas Marsh who took the score to 231 without loss. Vikash in particular was in great form with a controlled but hard hitting
18 to his credit. They seem to have formed an excellent opening pair.

Scott (captain for the day) and Nick consolidated putting on a further 10 without loss taking the score to 241. Vinit and Chris took a further 20 to go to 261 without loss with Vinit smacking a couple of nice boundaries to score 11 with good support from Chris on 4.

The final pair of Peter and Thomas Bolton hit a further 28 for only the loss of Peter caught off a good shot which unfortunately went straight to a fielder. Peter 12 and Thomas a nice 8.

This took Chorleywood to their final score of 281 and completed a convincing win to complete the double over their Tring Park opponents.

Another good all round performance from an improving team well led on this occasion by Scott Donovan.

Chorleywood v Tring Park

26/06/08

Chorleywood 262 for 5 wickets
Tring Park 219 for 9 wickets.

Chorleywood win 20pts.

Chorleywood batted first. Thomas (17) and Vikash (12) again saw Chorleywood off to a good start which could have been even better but for 2 silly run outs.

They reached 228.Vinit and Harry carried on the good work to take the total to 240 losing 1 wicket.Peter (10) and Jamie pushed on well to 269 including quite a few extras with Scott (6) and Mustafa bringing us to a total of 262.

This was a pretty good batting performance with the total enhanced by quite a few extras.

Tring Park first pair encountered some good bowling from Scott (2 bowled) and Harry (1 bowled) to go to 194. The second pair moved the total to 202 losing 1 wicket to Peter (bowled).

The third pair took it on to 209 losing 3 wickets, 1 each to Jamie,Mustafa and Vinit. The final pair then took the total to 219 losing 2 wickets - 1 bowled by Vinit and 1 run out. Vinit 2 for 10,Scott 2 for 12 with excellent support from Harry,Peter, Jamie and Mustafa who claimed 1 each.

Another good all round TEAM performance though the fielding could have been a bit tidier. The second victory in 3 days. Well done !

Captain Vinit Gadhia handled the team well with much enthusiasm.

Berkhamsted v Chorleywood

24/06/08

Chorleywood 270 for 3 wickets
Berkhamsted 238 for 6 wickets

Chorleywood win 20pts.

Berkhamsted batted first and got off to a steady start against some tidy bowling from Scott and Alex. They put on 8 runs and lost no wickets. Peter Edwards then took 2 wickets (bowled) when the second pair batted and took the score on to 219. Vinit took a wicket as the third pair took the score to 234.

The final pair were kept well under control by Peter,Alex,Vikash and Scott with Alex taking a wicket and Scott bowling a good final over to take 2 wickets bowled. They finished on 238. Scott 2 for 8,Peter 2 for 18 with good support from Alex 1 for 11 and Vinit 1 for 9. Good fielding by Chorleywood and a solid performance by wicket keeper Thomas Marsh.

Chorleywood set off in pursuit of the total in fine style with Vikash and Thomas putting on 30 with some good controlled batting. They lost one wicket - Thomas may have been unlucky to have been given out bowled when the ball may well have rebounded from the keeper's gloves onto the bails.

Mustafa and Scott consolidated with 11 runs for no wicket to 241. Alex and Peter piled on 29 for 1 wicket lost - Alex run out backing up. They took the total to 270. Vinit and Arjun then batted sensibly with only a run out to see Chorleywood to their final total of 270.

This was a great TEAM effort by the lads and Peter Edwards captained and handled the bowling and fielding very well.

Met Police Bushey v Chorleywood

16/06/08

Chorleywood batted first and scored 187 which could have been quite a few more had a couple of our batsman not kept trying to hit straight balls out of the ground. Captain Vikash Dodhia Batted well early on for 14 with no outs and set good example of how to play.

Vinit Gadhia and Peter Edwards managed some big hits but gave away their wickets too easily. The end result was we scored 67 runs including 18 extras but lost 10 wickets (-80).

Met Police scored steadily in their innings against on the whole some reasonable bowling from Chorleywood although there was a strange decision to let Zena bowl the final over !

The highlight was Peter Edwards spectacularly removing a batsman's off stump. Their score of 259 was represented by 83 runs including 32 extras and they lost only 3 wickets (-24).'

The Met Police team was not particularly strong but bit better than our fairly inexperienced team. I think we can get a lot closer (and possibly beat them) in the return match with better shot selection and better handling of the bowling.

Dunstable v Chorleywood 19/05/08

Chorleywood unable to raise a side.

Dunstable 20pts.
