| Radlett v Chorleywood | 02/06/08 |
|---|---|
Radlett 115 for 10 wickets 20pts Radlett win by 15 runs. Radlett batted first and were all out for 115 runs with a strong performance from Patel 32 backed up by Lederman 17, Ruston 14 and Lawrence 12. Three wickets were taken by Keating and two by Khiroya. Chorleywood followed but their run rate was kept down by economical bowling from Radlett, especially Flanagan, Lederman, Osman and Wright who all cost 4 or less an over. Lederman and Gillams each took two wickets. Chorleywood upped their run rate later but by then the trap was set and a deep field from Radlett for the last few overs won the match. |

| Chorleywood v Langleybury | 23/05/08 |
|---|---|
Chorleywood 66 for 3 wickets 20pts With a break in the weather late in the morning the pitch had little time to dry completely from the heavy rain the previous night but the match went ahead and we were able to enjoy some evening sunshine. Fielding first Chorleywood bowlers Alex Keating and Henry Scott pegged back Langleybury from the start, early wickets tumbled and at 18 for 5 in the 5th over matters looked bleak for Langleybury. No.6 batsman Griffin dug in and played an anchor role and with Edmond and Finn he edged the score along to a reasonable total of 65 for 8. Wood bowlers Keating 2 wickets for 5 runs off 2 overs, Scott 3 wickets for 14 off 3, Rishi Poapt 2 wickets for 2 runs off 2 were the pick of the 9 bowlers used but U12 bowlers Josh Ryan, Jack Tame and Chris Naisby did equal damage by only conceding 14 runs between them. Special praise must be given to acting keeper Matt Rose for an excellent job behind the stumps. Griffin top scored with 13 and Finn made 10. I reply openers Keating and Kieran Bunn played sensible shots and moved the score along ahead of the asking rate, Keating retired on 30, Bunn was bowled on 16 and Rose, Naisby and Anish Khiroya reached the winning total between them with 5 overs to spare. Langleybury bowlers Walker, Quint, Edmond and Burrows bowled well and worked hard to restrict Chorleywood but total was too small to defend. For Langleybury Edmond finished 4-0-12-1, Burrows 3-0-15-1 and Walker 4-1-20-1. |

| Chorleywood v Old Albanian 1 | 23/05/08 |
|---|---|
|
Old Albanians 133 for 3 wickets 20pts Batting first the Old Albanian openers laid a firm foundation for what was eventually to be a winning total. Both Reed and Bevan scored their maximums in quick time, with quality driving shots they took the total to 66 at the half way mark allowing batsman 3 Parkash to continue the good work with equally majestic shots. Chorleywood did stem the flow of runs for a brief spell and Keiran Bunn deserved credit for his stint of bowling during this period. Wood did pick up 3 late wickets but the damage had been done and faced a formidable total to chase. The innings ended on 133 for 3 with Reed 30 retired, Bevan 33 retired and Parkash 32 retired. In reply Chorleywood openers Alex Keating and Henry Scott responded well to the challenge of 7 runs an over and moved the score to 77 by the 11th over, both played correctly and found the boundary with good drives and pulls. Scott retired on 32 having scored 7 fours. Keating was then bowled by Parkash on 23. With skipper Anish Khiroya and Matt Rose batting the target was in sight and at the end of the 17th over with the score at 108 it was matching exactly what OAs had scored at the same point. When Rose was caught off Sullivan it signaled the fall of wickets, Matthew Stoughton-Harris was unfortunate to hit his own wicket and two Wood bats perished run out in pursuit of the chase. Finishing on 122 for 5 was 12 short but a fantastic effort had been put in and was the making of a very good cricket match. |

| Chorleywood v Harpenden | 02/06/08 |
|---|---|
Chorleywood 110 for 3 wickets 20pts Having been put in to bat Harpenden got off to a good start with openers Fordham and Jinks putting on 18 in the first two overs and despite losing three wickets in quick succession the score moved along at 6 an over. Fordham eventually fell for 14. Good bowling by Chris Naisby, Keiran Bunn and in particular Anish Khiroya 3 for 12 restricted Harpenden to a certain degree but Wells 11, Baines 11 not out and Stevens 13 not out took the total to a healthy 109 for 6. In reply Wood openers Henry Scott and Alex Keating put on a stand of 42 before Keating was bowled by Baines. Scott reached his maximum 31 with 7 boundaries of high calibre. Alex Petrie hit a rapid 16 before being bowled by Salveson. Josh Ryan joined his skipper Anish Khiroya for a partnership of 32 both batted with maturity and kept the score moving ahead of the asking rate, Ryan went for 13 caught by the excellent fielder Salveson off the bowling of Hewett. Chris Naisby arrived at the wicket and hit the match winning 4 with 10 balls left. Khiroya finished 27 not out. Salveson 3-0-11-1 and Hewett 3-1-14-1 were the pick of the Harpenden bowlers. |

| St Albans v Chorleywood | 13/05/08 |
|---|---|
|
Chorleywood 88 for 4 wickets 20pts Chorleywood win by six wickets. St Albans were put to the sword by a strong Wood bowling performance, U12 Matthew Rose dealt a devastating blow to St Albans by removing opener Calvert with the first ball of his stint and U13 County player Goddard for a Golden Duck with his second ball which left St Albans on 20 for 3. Wickets for Toby Harper, Chris Naisby, Josh Ryan and Jack Tame continued the good work and pace man Alex Keating brought proceedings to a close by taking the tail in a rip snorting last over with 3 wickets in 4 balls. Restricting the opposition to a manageable total and taking all ten wickets against a strong side was impressive. Opener Henry Scott 31, and skipper Anish Khoroya 33, establish a match winning partnership of 70 with carefully placed shots for singles and boundaries and kept up with the asking rate despite facing very accurate and often quick bowling. With the enforced retirements and a couple of quick wickets the middle order was put into use and with scores level Josh Ryan came on to face the last over from Goddard and dispatched his first delivery to the boundary and sealed a great win against a strong side. |
